Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information The Blockchain News Express collects, how and why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your personal data.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to run the site and send communications you ask for.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • Our on-site tools and calculators run in your browser — we never see what you type into them.
  • You can access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing us.

Who we are

The Blockchain News Express (“TBN Express”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at https://tbnexpress.com/. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information in connection with this site. For any privacy question, contact [email protected].

Information we collect

We collect personal information in three ways:

  • Information you provide directly — for example, your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, and the name, email and message you send when you contact us or submit a tip.
  • Information collected automatically — when you visit, we and our analytics providers automatically receive your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the time and date of your visit. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Information from third parties — our analytics and advertising partners may share aggregated or technical data with us.

We do not collect or store the figures you enter into our converters and calculators; those calculations run entirely in your browser.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • operate, maintain and improve the website and its content;
  • send the newsletter and respond to messages you send us;
  • understand how the site is used so we can make it better and faster;
  • display and measure advertising, where applicable;
  • protect the site against fraud, abuse and security threats;
  • comply with our legal obligations.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, we process your data on the basis of your consent (for the newsletter and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (to run, secure and improve the site), and to meet our legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential, analytics and — where applicable — advertising cookies. You can control or refuse non-essential cookies; full detail and instructions are in our Cookie Policy.

How we share your information

We share personal data only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us run the site (hosting, content delivery, analytics, email delivery), under contracts that require them to protect your data.
  • Advertising partners, where applicable, to serve and measure ads.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect rights, property and safety.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information. Some sharing with advertising or analytics partners may fall under the broad definition of a “sale” or “sharing” in certain US states — see Do Not Sell My Info for how to opt out.

International data transfers

We operate globally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records; analytics data is retained for a limited period in line with our providers’ defaults.

Data security

We use HTTPS encryption and reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Port your data to another service;
  • Withdraw consent at any time; and
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. See Do Not Sell My Personal Information.

How to exercise your rights

To make any request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 30–45 days).

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our content may link to third-party sites and services that have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those policies; please review them before sharing your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “last updated” date below and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
