Trust is the only currency that matters in journalism. These principles define how we earn it — and how we protect our readers from hype, conflicts and manipulation.
Integrity
We report honestly and in good faith. We do not fabricate, plagiarise or knowingly mislead.
Independence
Our coverage is free from advertisers, token issuers, exchanges and political interests.
Transparency
We disclose funding, ownership and conflicts. Authors are named and accountable.
Fairness
We give subjects of critical reporting a fair chance to respond and represent opposing views accurately.
Conflicts of interest & trading
Writers disclose holdings relevant to a story. Staff may not trade on non-public information, may not write about assets where they have an undisclosed material interest, and may not participate in token pre-sales tied to coverage.
Gifts, payments and “shilling”
Staff may not accept gifts, payment or favours intended to influence coverage. Paid promotion, “pump-and-dump” schemes and undisclosed paid shilling are strictly prohibited. Sponsored content is always labelled as such.
Plagiarism & attribution
We credit other outlets’ original reporting and never present others’ work as our own. Plagiarism is grounds for dismissal.
Political and commercial neutrality
We do not endorse political candidates, parties or specific crypto projects as investments. Our role is to report and analyse, not to campaign. Commercial relationships are disclosed and never shape our editorial judgement.
Protecting our sources
When we promise a source confidentiality, we honour it. We protect the identity of whistleblowers and confidential sources, and we resist pressure to reveal them. We grant anonymity only when justified and approved by an editor.
Fair representation
We strive to reflect a range of perspectives and to report fairly on people and projects, including those we scrutinise. We give subjects of critical coverage a genuine opportunity to respond, and we represent opposing views accurately rather than as straw men.
Corrections and right of reply
If we report something about you that is inaccurate, tell us — we will investigate and correct the record where warranted. Material that significantly affects a person or organisation is checked with particular care before publication.
Accountability
We welcome scrutiny and correct mistakes promptly and visibly under our Corrections Policy. Serious breaches of these standards by staff are treated as a disciplinary matter.
