The Honours Admission Result 2025 under the National University of Bangladesh is now the center of attention, as the admission test reintroduced after 8 years of break. The result is expected to be published within two weeks. The exam was held on Saturday, May 31, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interested candidates will need to get at least 35 marks to pass this competitive exam.
As per the report, over 550,000 students had applied to take part in the admission test. The exam was conducted smoothly across 879 test centers. Now, candidates are waiting for the result.
Honours Admission Test 2025: Overview
For the first time in eight years, the National University reintroduced its admission test system. Earlier, NU had stopped holding admission tests after the 2014–15 academic session. Students were admitted in the Honours and Degree Course based on their GPA of SSC and HSC Exam from the session 2015-16 to 2023-24.
In 2025, the university reintroduced the admission test for the session 2024-25 to ensure more merit based selection process. This marks the first time in eight years that students must sat for an admission test for Honours Admission.
Admission Test Format and Marking System
The authority of National University announced the syllabus for the test. As per this, the exam followed an MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format and included a total of 100 marks. The duration was set to 1 hour, from 11 AM to 12 PM.
It is said on the syllabus that, candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer. However, there is no negative marking for wrong answers. Those who will get at least 35 marks in the admission test, will be appear in the merit list. Note that, the final merit list for the Honours Admission Result 2025 will be created out of a total of 200 marks, combining both the admission test score and GPA from SSC and HSC Exam. Of these, total marks in the MCQ Test, 40% of the SSC GPA (including the fourth subject) and 60% of the HSC GPA.
What’s Next for Applicants?
Now that the test has ended, students and guardians are eagerly waiting for the result. The National University is expected to release the results soon, once the evaluation process is completed.
Generally, the merit list is published within one or two weeks of the test. However, due to Eid Ul Adha holiday, the evalution process will take more time. So, the Honours Admission Result is expected to be published within June 16, 2025.
