Bangladesh Open University has published BOU HSC Routine 2025 for both 1st and 2nd Year students. According to the announcement, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam will begin on July 4, 2025, and continue until August 8, 2025. Students who are going to participate in the exam, must know detailed about the routine.
The authority of Open University has officially made this announcement on May 22, 2025. A notice including the exam schedule has issued on the official website. It was signed by MD Habibullah, Contoller of Examination of the University.
Open University HSC Exam 2025
The Open University for various programs including Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) is the most popular Education System in Bangladesh. Lakh of students from all over the country get admission in HSC Course. Every year, the university announces the exam date and time for HSC 1st and 2nd Year Exam in May or June.
This year, the authority published the exam routine on May 22, 2025. The written exams for both 1st and 2nd-year students will begin on July 4 and run until August 8. After a short gap, practical examinations will take place from August 10 to August 17. The complete routine covers all compulsory and elective subjects.

Shift Wise Exam Timing
The written exams will start on Friday, July 4, and the last written test will be held on Friday, August 8. After this, students will sit for their practical exams from August 10 to August 17. The routine includes exam timings, subject codes, and guidelines for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
There will be no breaks between the MCQ and CQ sections. The exams will run exactly as per the schedule mentioned in the question paper.
After entering the exam room and sitting in their assigned seats, students must check and verify which set of questions they will receive. Students must pass in MCQ, CQ, and Practical (if applicable) sections to pass the HSC exam.
Morning Shift (Starts at 9:00 AM):
- 8:45 AM – Distribution of empty OMR sheets (MCQ)
- 9:00 AM – Distribution of MCQ question papers
- 9:40 AM – Collection of OMR sheets and distribution of CQ question papers
Afternoon Shift (Starts at 2:00 PM):
- 1:45 PM – Distribution of empty OMR sheets (MCQ)
- 2:00 PM – Distribution of MCQ question papers
- 2:40 PM – Collection of OMR sheets and distribution of CQ question papers
Instructions for Students
The University authority has issued important guidelines that every student must follow strictly on the exam day. Here are the key points:
- Students must enter the exam hall 30 minutes before the exam begins.
- Without an original student ID, no one will be allowed to sit for the exam.
- Carrying mobile phones, bags, or electronic devices into the hall is strictly forbidden.
- Students must not leave the exam hall within the first hour of the examination.
- During the MCQ part, the correct question set code must be identified and followed.
- For those under DeNovo registration, remember that the opportunity is limited based on batch validity—Batch 18 gets the first chance.
- Students must fill out the Promotion Code (11 digits), ID number, and Subject Code correctly in English on the OMR sheet. Errors or unclear entries may result in cancellation.
- Both MCQ and CQ must be attempted in full, and students must also pass the practical exam (if applicable) to be declared successful.
